Day Six : Irreverence Towards God

Reverence is honor and respect that is deeply felt and outwardly demonstrated

Daily Focus: Irreverence Towards God

February 6

Reverence is honor and respect that is deeply felt and outwardly demonstrated. Because of God's awesome power and majesty, He deserves the highest level of reverence (Leviticus 19:30). The Bible records reverence as the automatic response of everyone who encounters the awesome grandeur of the Lord God Almighty (Numbers 20:6; Judges 13:20; 1 Chronicles 21:16).

Irreverence Is a lack of respect for people or things that are generally taken seriously: For example, spiritual leadership.

We show irreverence to God when we do not esteem spending time with Him.

Ways we can show honor and reverence for God:

Love the Lord your God with all your heart, mind, soul, and strength, remembering that Jesus says that those who love Him will obey Him.

Since we have these promises, dear friends, let us purify ourselves from everything that contaminates body and spirit, perfecting holiness out of reverence for God.
